Conference Committee

The Annual Conference Committee is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing SWAC’s annual professional conference. The conference is intended to:

Provide high-quality continuing education for social workers and related professionals;
Create opportunities for professional networking, connection, and collaboration;
Recognize leadership, advocacy, innovation, and progress within the social work profession;
Support professional growth at all stages of practice;
Strengthen Arkansas’s social work workforce; and
Advance SWAC’s mission and statewide impact.

Leadership Advancement Committee

The Leadership Development Committee is charged with developing current and future social work leaders and strengthening SWAC’s organizational capacity.

The Committee is responsible for creating a leadership pipeline to strengthen the organizational capacity of SWAC and the social work profession in Arkansas. This includes recruiting, annual board evaluation, and succession planning. Annual priorities include:

Developing and overseeing the SWAC Leadership Development Program
Managing SWAC’s Hall of Distinguished Leaders
Maintaining SWAC’s Speakers’ Bureau.

Advocacy & Policy Committee

The Advocacy Committee is charged with advancing social work through legislative education, policy advocacy, and systems change. The Committee is responsible for monitoring legislation both nationally and statewide, recommending advocacy priorities, coordinating advocacy efforts, developing action alerts, collaborating with partner organizations, and providing legislative education to social workers, students, and adjacent professions. Annual priorities include:

Legislative session planning
Policy Engagement Day
Position statements
Coalition building.

Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee is charged with increasing awareness of SWAC and building partnerships with social workers, organizations, adjacent professionals, organizations, students and communities. The Committee is responsible for coordinating outreach events, recruiting volunteers, developing partnerships, and supporting regional organizers. The committee is the source for SWAC’s:
